To Eat or Not To Eat

Mama Mia makes a simple vegetable medley that I love. It's really quite simple. Take a spoonful of butter and add sliced potatoes, onions, zucchini, squash, mushrooms (if you actually enjoy that taste), and a sprinkle of spice. Cover, simmer, and enjoy.

Yesterday was busy. I had 40 quick minutes between the time I got home from church till when I would leave to attend a symphony Christmas concert. I needed some nourishment. I debated between a peanut butter sandwich or some veggies. The later seemed more appealing. Although I've never made this dish on my own, I've watched Mama Mia cook this too many times to count.

I sliced. I buttered. I combined veggies. I covered. I simmered. I waited. I blogged. I lost track of time.

...and I, uh, ate a peanut butter sandwich. Future suitors, if you are hoping to date the cook in the family, sorry but Mama Mia's happily married.

I would say, "I'm a fantastic cook, send your unhappy suitors my way", but I think we're fishing in completely different ponds! ;)

oh no, that sounds just like something I would do.

All that work to end up with a peanut butter sandwich!
(A great back-up though.)

Careful, Mama Mia's going to kick you out of her kitchen.

I'm impressed that you went for the veggies first.

Mojo: I always say "there's a lid for every pot" so your pond works for you and my pond works for me. :o)

Craze: something you would do... Burn food or lose track of time while blogging?

Beth: It was yummy.

Joe: She came home, saw the plate of burned veggies and the camera and said, "Looks like Charlotte's preparing a blog." She knows me pretty well.

Queen: I love veggies. My coworkers think I'm vegitarian. Nothing could be further from the truth though.

Bec: No spice was added to that batch but usually I use Lawrys. I love that stuff!

You'd fit in perfectly with my family. My parents actually prefer their food slightly burned. I grew up on burned squash, okra, popcorn, everything.

You should look at my post about Mary's recipe again. Maybe she could teach you a thing or two about cooking.

Oh, what a good laugh this was because I love cooked veggies. But, I wouldn't have eaten that either. I have done this countless times, too. It is so easy to forget you are cooking when you come to look at the computer. Thank you for sharing this. I am sorry it has been awhile since I dropped by. Have a nice night.

There's nothing wrong with a good peanut butter sandwich!

Bone: really? I'm sorry.

Sarah: She can totally teach me about graham cracker cooking. :o)

Thom: whatever.

Michelle: Welcome back!

Thinker: I agree!

Yup. Sounds like me.

I'm not lying, I LOVE my food cooked like that. Seriously! I call the burned stuff some good old mountain spice and I relish it. Except for on Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. But hey, you can cook for me any day; that looked delicious!

This is the one which made me want to come back for more. Your posts, that is, not the veggies.
