I went to a series of workshops on Saturday where I learned about diabetes, exercise, women's health, and total body health. Lunch was a salad bar with dozens of various toppings, wheat rolls and fruit cups.
And dessert.
On each table was a little dish full of chocolate. I didn't want to offend any of the hosts or guest speakers from the area so I took a piece.
And another.
Oh, and one more.
I finally had to push the dish past my reach so I would stop. I remarked to those seated nearby that - starting right then and there - I had a new health goal involving chocolate. Since I struggle with chocolate temptations and could never not eat it, I would moderate my consumption to allow one piece a day. They agreed with me that the goal was obtainable.

I like the way you think girl. Early is better than late! You just reminded me I have a box of mini Abba Zabsas I should get started on.
My husband has the same problem. And we live in Switzerland so chocolate is EVERYWHERE! I have to hide all the the chocolate I like to have on hand for cooking. Since our apartment is small he keeps finding my stashes.
Oh chocolate...I have the same problem. I tried that one piece a day thing too - it's amazing how large my definition of piece became. Good luck with your efforts on it...we could always start a cross-continent support group.
(PS I'm Krista's cousin and have been reading your blog for awhile. I figured it was time to come out into the open and make a comment - finally.)
That sounds like an excuse to me, not a riesen.
you just keep telling yourself that dear and you will do just fine. i promise. haha
12 days ahead of schedule...LOL...I love how you think!
I know what you mean, I'm like you- I could never NOT eat chocolate! :)
I LOVE Reisens!!! They're probably my favorite candy, now that the chocolate Twizzlers are a new (and by far much crappier) recipe. Chocolate Twizzlers used to be my favorite. But, now it probably has to be Dark Chocolate Reisen.
too bad I can't spell Riesen properly. Oh, I'm so embarrassed. But, then again, I don't like them for the way they're spelled . . .
Nice post. You're not alone. I bought a box of six chocolate ice cream. Two hours later none were left. And all of five of us declared to eat healthy food. I took five of it:) My youngest cried, I've got to give her one.
Craze: let me know if you need any help.
Alice: I'm the same as your husband...I find all the hiding spots.
Shauna: Thanks for stopping by!
Shankar: Riesen? Did you say riesen? Sure, I'd love one.
Robbie: Death by chocolate is my new motto.
Em: no one can accuse me of procrastinating!
Celine: We should get together sometime...for chocolate!
Travis: We should buy stock in Riesen. At least we know two people who would buy. :o)
Rata: you baby wanted one? Goodness...children can be so demanding.
Chocolate: A perfect subtance in an imperfect world.
