I Smell Trouble

...and it smells kinda fruity.

I was thinking the other day - in the shower of course because that's typically when my best ideas come. Anyway, so I was thinking and not paying attention to my shower routine. I picked up the can of shaving gel, cupped my hand, and sprayed a generous amount. It was orange.

My shaving gel is green.

I looked and realized I'd picked up Johnny-Cherie's gel by accident. Her shaving scent is Melon Medley. Curiosity got the better of me so I sniffed it.

That was stupid. I was mere inches from a nose full of gel.

Which brings me to my question: why do shaving creams have scents? I don't need to have shaving gel that close to my nose. I mean, it's not like I have to shave my nose hair...and even if I had to for some gross, unfeminine reason, I wouldn't use shaving gel.

Scented tweezers. That's what I would need.

That is a heck of a good question. Maybe because you hope someone will be smelling your legs.

I hope that someone will be smelling my face and yet I sill use the $0.99 Barbasol cream. Of course the ones with scents for men is like "Glacier" or "Night Out".

I don't even know what that means. I would like a shaving cream that smells like cake. That would make me happy all day!

I've never thought about it.. I suppose it is silly. I could go for scented tweezers too though.

All toiletries must have an aroma! And they must not be the same scent! Deodorant must smell different than hair spray which must smell different than hand lotion. And nothing should smell like cologne! Mix it all together - what do we smell like anyway?!?

Tweezers? You got to use one of those ear/nose hair trimmers. Just spread a little gel on it as your trimming.

Thom: "Night Out"? What does that smell like? Exhaust mixed with stale cigarette smoke?

Burg: you can be my business partner

Patience: That's why I hate scented anything. I smell like an over-ripe fruit basket!

Joe: thanks but I don't want any advice on nose trimming. :o)

Scented tweezers. Brilliant. And toenail clippers too.

Just when I thought I had enough blogs to visit on a daily basis, I had to go and find yours!

Besides I shouldn't even like you since your entry on P.W.'s blog was so brilliant and likely to win.

Thanks for sharing your creative mind.

And why do women's things always smell like FOOD? What do these big corporations think you women are, anyway? No way they'd give a guy mango-scented shave gel. No way.

Shaving stuff may not come that close to your nose, but it does to mine. And I appreciate something that smells pretty nice.

And Thomas has a point too...you never know who might be sniffing your legs!

wow u guys are all dumb when it's obvious why things smell certain smells. let the expert that worked at bath and body works for a max of 1.5 months tell u all. first of all, read the labels on the back, they always enlighten the consumer. lots of smells are used to enhance certain feelings..like relaxation, calmness...have u not heard of aromatherapy? lavender is an example of that previously mentioned. just like certain colors are used or represented to promote certain behaviors (blue-calm, yellow-happy, red-passionate), so are smells. watch out for too much good smellyness...my gyno informed me that b&b works is more proned to yeast infections. :(
